The position:
We’re looking for a Data Scientist to participate in an exciting, innovative program in digital health and drug discovery. By extracting hidden information in vast amounts of data, you’ll help us make smarter decisions and deliver even better products. Your primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high-quality prediction systems integrated with our products, in collaboration with pharma. Topics of interest include analysis and model generation of healthcare data, including but not limited to microbiome genomics, medical history and pharmaceutical spend.
What you’ll be doing:
- Extraction and analysis of large healthcare claims data
- Developing and implementing statistical, and machine learning models for healthcare analytics
- Building data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
- Processing, cleaning and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
- Implementing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
What you’ll need to do this job:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning techniques for predictive analytics
- Strong applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, feature screening/selection
- Proficiency in Python/R, SQL,
- Experience managing and designing relational and no-relational databases
- Engineering background with knowledge of data structures, design patterns, and software engineering best practices
- Academic training in Data Science, Statistics, Operation research or equivalent practical experience
- Ability to collaborate and flexibility to work closely with a team of various skill sets and expertise
- System design skills and ability to base engineering decisions on product vision
In a perfect world, you’ll also have one or more of these qualifications:
- Ph.D. with published projects in the fields of health data analytics and machine learning
- Comprehension of healthcare data (e.g., ICD-9/ICD-10, claims, profiling), statistical analysis experience such as: multivariate and structural equation modeling and demonstrated understanding of healthcare and delivery system processes
