VIVANTE ADDS COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY TO DIGESTIVE HEALTH PLATFORM: Vivante Health is integrating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to its GIThrive platform to help users manage conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), the Chicago-based digital health company said in a statement.
A CBT-based feature, IThrive, on Vivante’s platform for employers and health plans is meant to help users “modify behaviors and alter dysfunctional thinking patterns to help alleviate symptoms of IBS, the statement. Among the CBT tools offered are 10 weeks of daily audio sessions, daily exercises including journaling and coping strategies, digestive health guided meditation and one-on-one support from dedicated health coaches and dietitians, the statement said.
Vivante stated that multiple independent studies have demonstrated CBT’s effectiveness in relieving IBS symptoms. IThrive is the first therapeutic being added to the gut health program, but the company plans to continue to build increasingly personalized solutions into the GIThrive platform, the statement said.
“Evidence-based digital therapeutics have been shown to help alleviate symptoms associated with chronic digestive conditions like irritable bowel syndrome,” Bill Snyder, Vivante Health CEO said in the statement. “Offering these solutions through our GIThrive platform brings clinically validated support to members in the comfort of their homes. This innovation will help us further reduce digestive-related GI flareups, ER visits and work absenteeism that affect business productivity as well as health care costs.”
