About: Rachel Pacheco is a former chief people officer, an advisor, an author, and currently a faculty member at The Wharton School of Business, where she teaches global strategy and organizational behavior. Pacheco’s work also includes ongoing research on management–specifically on power and culture–and her first book, Bringing Up the Boss: Practical Lessons for New Managers, focuses on providing practical tools for new managers in start-up organizations.

Background: Pacheco’s career spans over a decade and has involved serving on the executive teams of several healthcare and big data startups, as well as a founding faculty member of the Entrepreneurship in Education Program at the University of Pennsylvania. She has supported numerous digital healthcare startups, such as Maven Clinic, Wellthy, Cityblock Health, and Included Health. Pacheco has also advised them on organizational design, team dynamics, talent strategies, and building a healthy culture.
